"I create this false mood inventory which I find to be like I want people to cut it out of the book and put it on the refrigerator because when we're in the throes of peak anxiety we never have the presence of mind to think am I actually just hungry," she says. "We can go through that inventory and think oh there is a physical basis for how I'm feeling right now and it really softens the blow, gives us a strategy for how to be less anxious."
