How to Sign a Transaction
So you might think you're spending half a bitcoin but actually the coins that you're spending are worth one bitcoin. The hardware wallet can't tell the difference so we'll just sign whatever. So now you know that you're probably spending an actual transaction that wasn't messored and you can check the amount yourself. That's basically how it worked. You would just give the hardware wallet all the inputs. And then the hardware will just know about the inputs because the hardware willjust know about the blockchain overall.
