In the year 18 81, Saajaro comes to power and quickly shows that none of this has worked. When they say an indian state should modernize, they essentially want a bad copy of the british model. They don't want system or aversion that is rooted in indian ideas. But as i early on there's also a marata royal family over guratis so you have his position challenged at lower levels. And then by the end of the nineteenth century, you start seeing him flirting more seriously with the party congress.
