Why the St. Ermans Hotel Was Bombed During World War II

The St. Ermans hotel was bombed by the Luflauther during World War II. It survived, but all other buildings around it were destroyed. Sir Winston Churchill and his ministers had a dinner there in June 1940. There they discussed how to take the fight back to the Germans. They came up with an organisation called the Special Operations Executive (SWE) Within six weeks of that dinner, the SWE was up and running on the six-storey building.
