The Use of Cluster Munitions in Conflicts Around the World

Mark Hertling: We've seen widespread use of cluster munitions in both the war in Lebanon by Israel in 2006. And also by the Russians in Georgia, I was there in 2008 and found sub munitions there. He says it's shocking to me that U.S. military is relying on very low-tech precision weapons such as DPI CMs. Hertling: They don't work well; you've got 14% success rate with them. You may get force, but you have so many contaminated area that can't maneuver through.
