The Lego Movie - Weekly Online Movie Session - Commentary by David Hoffmeister
The main character in the Lego Movie, Emmet has to recognize who he really is, that he is "the One." Right up to his spiritual awakening, he is connected to the matrix, blinded by the fact that he has no significant or holy relationships.
Although he has seen glimpses that something is not right with the world, he quickly expels these thoughts from consciousness and adapts to Legoland, the only world Emmet knows. Legoland has instructions for everything, including how to behave, think, and live, to fit in and be a successful character.
Accepting your true identity is not just about becoming a master builder or a superhero. It's about accepting that you are a valuable part of the whole and accepting the perfection of your true identity. In this acceptance, Spirit moves in perfect ways: with perfect presence, words, solutions, and actions are provided at every moment. In this awareness, the Self, the Mind, is not subject to the laws of the world. Superheroes are "unplugged," and that is why they have taken advantage of what is called superpowers. And even higher, beyond being an "unplugged" superhero, is the ability to collaborate for an even higher purpose.
