Presumed innocent was a big hit, just barely getting edged out of the overall box office top 10 of 1990 by Back to the Future III. While Ghosts' reviews either praised or looked down on that film's melding of female-skewing genres, in time, Richard Corliss called Ghost a bad movie a lot of people will like. Several female critics were incisive about presumed Innocent's scary, misogynistic subtext which really wasn't all that sub.
