Carpenter had already been working on the movie since 1976. The story is coming out of a Cold War paranoia. It's all about this sort of shape shifting, a creature that can take your identity. Russell was slightly bigger as a name than they thought they were going to get for that part. Do you know how old Robotene was when they made this film? You're going to have 22. Correct. I wasn't doing special effects when I did King Kong.
