The Politics of Protest Art

I've always been attracted to protest art, Blackman says. I think there's a certain anger that one associates with protests. And has it stopped? It hasn't. It's taking different forms. Some people express themselves through drawing new figures and other people express themselves by what they read in the newspaper or what's going on on the other side of the world that enrages them. For some this means creating works of enduring beauty. For other it means fighting social injustices.
