A pivot is when a company moves from one business model, or industry, or product To a completely different one And successfully changes its business model. Mt Gox started out as a software platform to manage your magic and then pivoted into managing Bitcoin accounts. Groupon was going to be like this crowd funding site called The Point but ultimately turned into a daily deal site. So why are we talking about pivots? Because it was on the list of things we were going to do a podcast about that stopped us before.
