In grand's system, this would imply a journey to the night side tree of life. But as i noted earlier, this was supposed to be saturn. Yes, i believe cubric is strongly implying the use of psychodelics in this practice with the faction in which he films the star gate. I suspect that to sell the studios and the filmhe framed it as much like buc buck rogers as possible. This is borne out partly by cupi's decision to collaburate with arthor c clark on this project, despite clark's hard science persona. Several clark's works are littered with occolt themes and dogmas.
