i think that the political discourse these days is very poor and definitely doesn't live up to the kinds of standards that i loftily suggest it would need to. We'd have to try very hard to have a good public conversation about it. I gusyou ge you kow, there could be like market competition that makes it hard,. or perhaps just people have intractable, intractably different values, and they can't reach agreement.
