Human Friendship Is Not Like Friendship Between Human Beings or Mutual Love

I think there's a genuine way in which human beings interact with domesticated animals, that is its own relationship and that satisfies many needs. I still think it will be hard to imagine someone literally only having relationships or interactions with their pet. Even your grandfather probably interacted with other people. And there were moments of little human connection and mutual acknowledgement. So maybe on this way of thinking about it, it's an analog of the kind of paradigm case I've been thinking of.
