How Much Debt Do You Have?
In the 1980s, the average for the federal funds rate was 10%. We're still about a full percentage point lower than that right now. Having a lot of debt and having to pay high interest rates on that debt is a big problem. The only reason America hasn't experienced these problems yet is because we haven't been able to dig ourselves into an even deeper hole. Eventually, markets are going to rain this in getting back to the level of fed funds during 2010s.
