The Scottish Cabinet Secretary's Statement on GM Crops
I was not asked for advice on this matter when I was actually in position. The statement that Scotland should uphold the precautionary principle and the potential risks of using GM crops or growing GM crops to wildlife outweigh the benefits. If there were any conversations, I think it was more around non-science based aspects which was about perception of demand. There's actually nothing in a statement that, to my mind, is about a scientific argument for or against. It says it's about a fear of consumer backlash and that there's no demand for it.
