Is There a Difference Between Indexes and Tables?

There is a very fine line between indexes and tables. Some of the indexes are actually just tables. It's just like tables in ted by a specific key. So usually we are talking about index organized tables, which people usually say, just tables. And whenever we're talking about indixes, we are usually talking about something, a structure that points to the index organized table.
