The bolsheviks contributed a lot to the formation of ukranian national identity in the way of teaching literacy. Before the revolution, most of the mostucrenian peasants were illiterate. After the revolution, they they learnedinn the soviet schools. In those schools, they were taught not simply how to read and write, but the whole national narrative. And that's how they understood the historycrana peoplen.
