The gang encounters old man Ding who explains that he lost control of his limbs and found himself walking up the mountain like a puppet. They realize that the missing villagers must still be on the mountain and follow Toph to save them. Meanwhile, Hama shares with Katara how she escaped from the Fire Nation prison.
