The Romans were constantly trying to build the walls out there to stop these insane, like crazy, naked barbarians from like flooding into the world. So it was understood as the Western edge of civilization. And so Constantine joins them together, right through Rome itself. He's joining the beginning and the end and what does he join them with? He joins them with the cross.
