What Was Going on With Design Sponge?
Lake: Design sponge was born out of a time when the trade community funded print magazines. She recalls hiring her first full-time employee, who had no idea how much she'd have to save for it. "I gave them as much as i could afford to and just like let them loose on a column," Lake says about design sponge's early days.
