I usually will do the spot unless they have something like a severe AKI where I think it may not be as useful. So that's fair and there is definitely some variation depending on which nephrologist you ask so that's pretty common especially if it's hematuria alone. If we're fairly convinced that it's either not coming from the global amaryllus or not a GN then we might consider kind of leaving it alone. But for kids I also look at their parents here to see if they have undiagnosed hematuria that we don't know about because that can be helpful too.
