Is There a Threat of Violence Over This Book?
I thought it was an ugly she's betraying an uglyness but also a pomposity because people who think oh let's go and live like the Iron Age people did. I don't know the Iron Age probably was pretty horrible but they were trying to invent things to get out of these problems for me one of the joys of this book is that although Sylvia is in some ways very much her father's victim she also can see what an idiot. There's a threat of violence over the whole book but actually it just builds up quite slowly I think it's just very subtle book, despite being about unsettled things and lovely things.
