The End and the Means of Action
Free goods are things available in superfluous abundance, which man does not need to economize. Only economic goods are the substratum of action; they alone are dealt with in economics. Means can satisfy wants only indirectly when complemented by co operation of other goods. It is possible to think of producer's goods as arranged in order s according to their proximity to a consumer's good for whose production they can be used.
