The Circular Economy in New York City
The circular economy is playing a vital role in helping new york city achieve their goals. 75 per cent of our paper is recycled locally, goes to a local paper plant and gets turned into new boxes. That's only one aspect of truly creating a circular approach because we have to tackle the consumption patterns. We use tax payer dollars to to achieve what we're doing. And we need the business sector to really be innovating and in pushing the envelope. But changing standard practices is not easy.
