The fight over Willow got more intense. I was getting more press releases from certain PR groups touting the voices of tribes in the area who wanted Willow. The emissions impact, according to the Interior Department's environmental review of it, they said at the current scale, like 260 million tons of greenhouse gas will be coming out of that project. But remember, this is over 30 years would be 287.6 billion pounds of coal burned. 1.4 million rail cars worth of coal burned; 70 coal-fired power plants in one year. 31.6 trillion smartphones charged. So the equivalent to get rid of the carbon emitted by this, you would need to plant 307 million acres of trees.
