John: My parents were drug addicts and shoplifters. By the time I finished high school, my parents were actually arrested 121 times. As a kid, we spent a lot of time in motel room, foster homes, crisis centers. Basketball became a saving grace for me when I was in third grade. He says he walked seven miles every day to stay involved in sports.
