Is There a Difference Between Increasing Alveolar Ventilation and VQ Mismatch?
With VQ mismatch, let's understand this by thinking about an endobroncule intubation. Now you have one lung, in this case the right lung, that's getting volatile anesthetic at twice the rate because if you haven't recognized it as a right manstem intubation,. You're now ventilating that lung with twice as much gas and air as you would have been if you had a tracheal intubation; so increasing alveolar ventilation will help but not very much. With a very soluble anesthetic, you'll have a nearly empty alveoli's. So delivering more mint of ventilation makes a big difference. But what's interesting is that
