You are this mass, endless mass of consciousness. Whether the body is there or not, there let hundreds of bodies come and go. They are coming and going anyway, completely unmoved. Even you, who are the infinite ocean, let the waves of the universe rise or fall according to their own nature. Cause and effect makes these waves move. He says, noteveriten. Oarsati, you neither gain nor do you lose anything. That means no gain or loss to you when the waves are more as the ocean become more not at all. All of that water is the ocean's water. It just looks different.
Inspired by the 15th chapter of the Ashtavakra Gita, Swami Sarvapriyananda gives a discourse on the nature of the Self.
