Preventing Panic Attacks

A panic attack is an over reaction to the body's normal physiological response. It causes a racing heart, heavy breathing or hyper ventilation. The two main treatments for panic disorder are anti depressent medication and cognitive behavior therapy (c b t) Both have about a forty per cent response rate - though someone who responds to one may not ond to the other. Panic attacks can be part of anxiety disorders like p t, s d, social anxiety disorder, o c d, and generalize anxiety disorder.
