How to Correct a Bite After Surgery

I don't leave them the splints in. I try and get that bite dead on before they wake up. Do you use like guiding elastics afterward or what do you do? That's a good question. So we don't. But one thing I'm very particular about is if that bite's not dead on, I'll reset it. If it has to be the upper jaw reset or one side of the mandible, I'llreset it at that time rather than think I can fix it with guiding elastics. And then you're going to leave a lot of work for the orthodontist behind. Which still happens now and then.
