The Effect of Class on Marriage

Everyone who looked at income agreed that women tended to marry up, even in relative terms. Class was more complicated and different studies used different definitions of class. On average classier people earn more money so if women are marrying up for money surely they would just by accident also marry up a bit in class, right? The Norwegian study found some evidence of this - on average husbands were 8 percentile points higher in income than wives.
