Editing a New Writer's Manuscript
A lot of editors offer sample edits for free, which is a great way to kind of try before you buy. A good editor will work with you and say, you know, here's an idea, but use your own words, or feel free to make this malleable. This isn't said in stone, yea. And another thing that is important to pay attention to when youare reading through a writ up from an editor is are they genuinely enjoying your story? Because if you find that they have nothing to say except criticism after criticism, and their being really critical, that would be an indication of this is not the right person working on your book.
