The Importance of Data in Enterprise IT
In the late 90s there was no non-academic job or job that you wanted. Don't do academia as a philosopher formally. You pretty much don't do philosophy formally. There's no other place to do it really. So I discovered the internet, the web, Linux, Unix, and then Linux all basically in like March, April of 1995. And I just felt that in this rabbit hole of I can have a workstation on my old PC. If I download enough, if I get enough floppy disk and download Slackware and it takes six weeks and I thought, okay, this is something I can do.
