Taylor: I always own the labels that people gave the group openly calling his followers a religious UFO cult. It's an old Satanist trick that Anton Leve understood implicitly, he says. The message went Applewhite said that the earth was a cruel place and if you can't figure out how to live in modern society then you have no choice but to leave it. Partly this is a story of true believers who wanted so bad to prove themselves right. They killed themselves to make a point.
