The Mute: Trichovsky at His Absolute Best
This is Trichovsky at his absolute best. A simple tune repeated multiple times that expresses an ineffable sadness. To me the mute takes us inside in a way that the unmuted version could never do. The middle section of the movement is a fit of nostalgia of happier times. It is tinged with melancholy, but Trichovsky releases the violinist to once again traverse the instrument and render the heart.
