State Department produced an online poster informing residents that it was safe to bathe in the contaminated water. MDEQ director Dan Wyatt and his weasily little spokesperson Brad Werfel resigned from their positions the day after the report was released. Governor Rick Schneider declared his own state of emergency and requested $55 million in assistance from the federal government so that Flint could install lead free pipes.
