The Third Idea of Hibernation
At the time, it was known that bats hibernated and bats were often classed as birds because they were flyy things. So why not birds? And this idea stuck around for hundreds upon hundreds of years well into the 17th century. Scientists were debating if birds hibernated in trees or in small nooks or crevices. The crazy rumor that was doing the rounds was that swallows hibernated underwater like fish. They migrate to the moon. With all of the destinations to choose from, how did the moon enter this? Well, this was the 1600s and the telescope had just been invented. But I mean, which is a sort of, it seems silly
