The Limitation of Mortality in Consciousness
Becker thought that mental illness was basically what happens if you can't, if your strategies for keeping death at bay fail. And so in a way, I guess what I'm saying is Becker didn't, he rejected the idea that there's some kind of separation between the healthy and the mentally ill. Any of us because of circumstances can move one way or the other. That's not the way Becker thought of it. He thought of it as a continuum.
