Sidney Rigdon and the New Testament

Sidney Rigdon was not on board with all the new and radical doctrines that Joseph Smith had started teaching toward the end of his life. While he never formally left or turned against the church, he had been removed from Joseph's inner circle. People did not consider him to be a strong contender to take over the church. Brigham Young arrives in the nick of time just a day and a half before this meeting. Most people didn't even know that he had returned from Boston yet.
