The City of God by Augustine
Augustine opens Book 5 of the City of God with a discussion of twins. He dispatches with astrology fairly quickly, then goes on to the old pagan notion of fate. Augustine had a complex and slippery position on this subject, which we'll discuss in a lot of detail next time.
