We tend to look at that pile of laundry as the evidence of how much I'm failing. Because we want to avoid like who wants to sit around with their failure pile, right? When we look at the barriers to being able to do these care tasks, there's sort of like two categories: environmental stress and not having enough support. And then there's a disability that is physically or mentally or emotionally preventing her from doing these categories of things.

Because for most people, life can be overwhelming – and that means it doesn’t always look like a cleaning commercial where everyone is dancing their way to do laundry, take out trash, or smiling while washing the dishes.
