At the UN, Gustavo Petro was very clear that the war on drugs isn't working and new approaches needed. He spoke about decriminalizing cocoa leaf production and creating places where Colombians could consume cocaine in a supervised environment. His plans are still quite nascent at the moment, and there would be a lot of international pushback to anything bolder than that.
