Africa, Asia, Size Comparison

Africa is enormous and the maps that we use, the mercantile projection, they don't show us how large Africa actually is. So when you have animals that live in a continent of this scale, they have massive amounts of territory that they can use as their home range. And that has an effect over the millennia on the size of an animal. An animal that has access to more land and more resources, that sort of animal can afford evolutionary, from an evolutionary standpoint, to grow larger.
