Julian Zelizer: The whole premise of this dialogue and all of the dialogues that it echoes is narcissistic. If you're a Democrat thinking about giving Williamson money or voting for her in the primary, think of the acutely high regard you would have to hold yourself in to publicly dominate a stranger with your spiritual worldview. Do you really think that it's her instinct to ask people about what they need and then provide it even if it doesn't accord with her personal values? He says there's a parallel on one hand between providing untrained performative spiritual counsel for a group and on the other hand affecting the persona of a trained politician offering overly simplistic solutions.
