The Malius Maleficarum: A Guide to Witch Hunting
The Malius Maleficarum, or the Hammer of Witches, was written by a Catholic Church official in 1487. It represented the Church's official views on witches and how to capture, torture, and execute them. The book is an incredible piece of misogyny, sexism towards women,. And included many of those ridiculous witch warning signs such as intelligence, fashion sense, and age. Many thousands more were accused and tortured, and likely died during torture or in prison.
