The Importance of Perspective Memory
So much of our learning depends on the plan that we put in place to get there. Perspective memory refers to situations where you are planning and you're thinking, oh, I want to be sure that I remember to do thus and so. The other problem that you mentioned is more difficult to cope with and that's the planning fallacy. All of us tend to underestimate the amount of time it will take to get things done.
