Why Do You Not Wash Your Hands?

In the gospel of mark, chapter seven, pharisees and religious leaders come to jesus. They aretally coming with a complaint. You don't wash your hands, how can you call yourself one of god's people? But listen to how jesus responds. He says: "There is nothing outside a person that, by going into him, can defile him" And so if it's true that almost half of people will transition in their faith, then it makes sense why they would do so in some extreme ways.
