When the war is ongoing, some of these children are aging into military service. So are they bring brought into the Red Army or are they fighting like any other Soviet? Yeah, but many of these boys desperately want to fight. And so several of them do end up joining in the Red Army and going off to fight. Some of them end up dying as well, including Doloresi Baderi, the head of the Spanish Communist Party. Her son ends up dying at the Battle of Stalingrad actually.
