Cardinal McElroy published an essay today in which he says it is automatically an objective mortal sin for a husband and wife to engage in a single act of sexual inner, using utilizing artificial contraception. This means the level of ease and evil present in such an act is objectively sufficient to sever one's relationship with God. The church always considers sexual sins to beobjective mortal sins, but does not consider other kinds of evils to be what he calls objective mortal sins.
