We saw the energy propagating away from the site of the volcano, basically. And then we also saw some unusual effects in the different current systems that occur in the ionosphere. That is not to say a volcano will always be stronger than the effects of a geomagnetic storm. But what it says is that volcanoes can have a very significant effect on space weather as a whole.
